Cycling

One of the best ways of cutting our town's carbon footprint is to reduce the number of car journeys we all make. Did you know that nearly 50% of all car journeys are less than 5 miles?!

North Somerset Council are currently in the process of developing a walking and cycling strategy for various towns in the county, including Clevedon. Whilst we don't think walking around the town is generally too bad, cycling is another matter. People's views on how cycling in the town could be improved have therefore been gathered (see poster below) and fed into the consultation exercise being carried out by the council. Greener Footprints members attended a consultation meeting held by the council and a formal submission was also made by the group in writing. Car Share

The other way of reducing car journeys is to car share. Reduced carbon footprint, reduced cost, new friends and guilt free driving! There is a great website for the Bristol and wider area that puts you in touch with people doing the same journey as you. Click on the icon below to take you to it.
